底辺の争いは十日続き、隣同士の争いは三日続く

A base quarrel lasts ten days, a neighbours' quarrel three

адуу азаргагүй бол сүрэг болдоггүй (болж чадахгүй), галуу түүчээгүй бол цуваа болдоггүй (болж чадахгүй)

種馬がいなければ群れにならない、先導する雁がいなければV字編隊にならない

If there is no stallion there is no (cannot be) herd, If there is no lead goose there is no (cannot be) v-formation

адуу зогсоолдоо, айл дэмдээ

馬は定置にあってこそ、家族は助け合ってこそ

Horses depend on their standing ground, households on their mutual support

адуунд азаргагүй бол сүрэг болж чадахгүй, галуунд тэргүүнгүй бол цуваа болж чадахгүй

馬は種馬がいなければ馬群にはなれず、ガンはリーダーがいなければ隊列を組めない

Without a stallion the horses cannot form a herd, without a leader the geese cannot form a skein

айл аймаг эетэй нь сайхан, ах дүү найртай нь сайхан

隣人は和やかなのがよく、兄弟は仲睦まじいのがよい

Neighbours are good when in harmony, brothers are good when in accord

айл аймаг эетэй нь сайхан, ах дүү нар эвтэй нь сайхан

近所は仲良く、兄弟は和やかに

It is nice to have peace in the neighborhood, It is nice to have peace among brothers

айл гэрээ додомдож чадвал төр улсыг засаж чадмой

家を正せば国を正せる

If you fix the family, you can fix the government

айл нутгийн, ая зан ондоо

土地や集落によって、風習や気性が異なる

Households and districts differ in custom and in temper

айл хүний амь нэг, саахалт хүний санаа нэг

近い隣人は命を共にし、遠い隣人は心を共にする

Close neighbors have one life, Far away neighbors have one mind

айлд орсон хүн, идээ амсдаг, модонд очсон хүн, бохь зажилдаг

人の家に入った者は、ご馳走を味見し、木立に行った者は、樹液（ガム）を噛む

One who enters a home tastes the food, one who goes to the trees chews the resin

айлд суухад айлыг дага, хүүхэд нохой хоёроо бүү өмөөр

他人の家で暮らすときはその家に倣い、自分の子どもと犬を身びいきするな

When you live in another's home follow that home, and do not take the side of your own child or your own dog

айлчаар ирэгсдэд бүү уурла, арга сурагчдад бүү хорос

客としてやって来た者に怒るな。教えを乞う者に腹を立てるな

Do not be angry with those who come as guests, do not resent those who come to learn

айлчин хүн, өглөөгүүр алт, үдэш мөнгө, өнжөөд гууль

客人は、午前中は金、夕方は銀、一日置くと真鍮（しんちゅう）

A guest is gold in the morning, silver in the evening, brass after a day

айлчнаа хүндэлсэн үүдэнд, онгоноо хүндэлсэн хойморт

客人を敬うのは入口であり、祖霊を敬うのは上座である

Respect for the guest is at the door, respect for the ancestors at the place of honour

алба мэдэхгүй ноён улсын чөдөр, ааш муутай хүн нутгийн чөтгөр

務めを知らぬ領主は国の妨げ、性格の悪い者は地域の悪霊

Lord who does not know his duty, will become a hindrance in the country; Person who has a bad personality, will become a hindrance in the community

алба хаагаагүй эрийг ямар эр гэх вэ, гал асаагаагүй эмийг ямар эм гэх вэ

兵役に就かぬ男を何の男と言うか、火を起こさぬ女を何の妻と言うか

If he does not go to the army, who will think he is a real man? If she never starts a fire, who will think she is a good wife?

аль газар явбал тэр газрын дууг дуулна

その土地に行ったら、その土地の歌を歌う

Whatever land you go to, you sing that land's song

амин хувийн ашиг өвсний шүүдэртэй адил, ард олны ашиг өндөр уултай адил

個人の利益は草の露のよう、国民の利益は高い山のよう

Personal benefit is like a drop of dew in the grass, National benefit is like a tall mountain

ангын юмыг арвуулаа, ховрын юмыг хориулаа

狩りの獲物は十人で分け、貴重なものは二十人で分ける

Ten of them share a thing after hunting, Twenty of them share a scarce thing

арван талдаа андтай, найман талдаа найзтай

十方に味方がおり、八方に友人がいる

Sworn friends on ten sides, companions on eight

民が豊かなら国が豊か、国が豊かなら民が豊か

If people are rich the country is rich, If the country is rich the people are rich

ахмадаа танихгүй хүн адгуус малаас дор, ардаа энэрэхгүй ноён атаатан дайснаас дор

年長者を知らぬ者は獣以下、民に慈悲を示さぬ主は敵以下

If a person does not know his elders he is worse than an animal, If the master does not show kindness to his people he is worse than an enemy
