ах дүүтэй хүн тал мэт уужим, ах дүүгүй хүн алгын чинээ бачим

兄弟姉妹がいれば草原のように広々、兄弟姉妹がいなければ手のひらのように窮屈

If a person has brothers and sisters it is like a vast steppe, If a person does not have brothers and sisters it is like the palm of a person's hand

良い兄の弟は賢く、働き者の家は整っている

兄は一尋の高さに敬え

Honour your elder brother by a full fathom

年長者を知らぬ者は獣以下、民に慈悲を示さぬ主は敵以下

If a person does not know his elders he is worse than an animal, If the master does not show kindness to his people he is worse than an enemy

茶碗のお返しは一日、馬のお返しは一年

A cup returns in a day, A horse returns in a year

旅は長く、収穫は少ない。

баавгай хэдий догшин ч бамбаруушдаа номхон, хутга хэдий хурц ч ишиндээ халгүй

荒々しい熊も子には優しく、鋭い刃物も柄には害がない

Even a wild bear is gentle to its babies, Even a sharp knife is not harmful to its handle

бааран хүнд нохой амраг, бялдууч хүнд ноён амраг

横暴な者には犬が懐き、諂う者には殿様が懐く

The dog is fond of the coarse man, the lord is fond of the flatterer

баас хатавч өмхийгөө тавихгүй

糞は硬くなっても臭いは消えない

Even if droppings are hard, they still stink

баатар хүн нэг суманд, баян хүн нэг зуданд

英雄は一発の弾で、金持ちは一度の吹雪で

A hero is killed by one bullet, A rich person is ruined by one severe winter storm

бага гэж байхгүйгээс багагүй

少ないとはいえ、無いよりは少なくない

Calling it small is better than having none

бага гэж бүү бас, балтгар гэж бүү дэвс

小さいからと見下すな、小さいからと踏みつけるな
