өвдөхөд эмч, өтлөхөд хань

病むときには医者、老いるときには連れ合い

In sickness, a physician; in old age, a companion

өвлийн цагт биеэ бигнэ, үхлийн газарт нөхдөө дэмнэ

冬の時季には体を温め、修羅場では仲間を支えよ

In winter keep your body warm, in a place of death hold up your comrades

өврийн өлзийтэй, барын ганзагатай

ふところに幸運を抱き、旅の荷物を持つ

With a blessing in his breast and game on his saddle-thong

өвстэй газар мал тогтдоггүй, жаргалтай газар хүн тогтдоггүй

草のある所に家畜は落ち着かず、幸せな所に人は落ち着かない

An animal will not stay long in a place where there is grass; A person will not stay long in a place where there is happiness

өвсөнд ороовч үхэр идэхгүй, өөхөнд ороовч нохой шиншихгүй

草で包んでも牛は食べず、脂で包んでも犬は嗅がない

Even though wrapped in grass, a cow will not eat; Even though wrapped in fat, a dog will not sniff

Өвсөнд ороовч үхэр тоож идэхгүй, өөхөнд ороовч нохой тоож шиншихгүй

草に包んでも牛は見向きもせず食べず、脂身に包んでも犬は嗅ぎもしない。

Even wrapped in grass, the cow won't bother to eat it; even wrapped in fat, the dog won't bother to sniff it.

өвсөө зун базаа, тэргээ өвөл базаа

草は夏のうちに備え、荷車は冬のうちに整えよ

Gather your hay in summer, mend your cart in winter

өвчин хэлж ирдэггүй, хийсч ирдэг

病気は知らせずにやって来る、風に乗ってやって来る

Disease does not inform that it is coming, It comes blowing

өвчнийг бага дээр нь, хоолыг шинэ дээр нь

病気は小さいうちに治療し、食べ物は新鮮なうちに食べよ

Treat disease when it is little, Eat food when it is fresh

өвчтэй хүн эмч голохгүй, өмсгөлтэй хүн хувцас голохгүй

病気の人は医者を選ばず、服を持つ人は衣類を選ばない

The sick man does not pick and choose his doctor, the clothed man does not pick and choose his coat

өвөл хэдий дулаан ч өвлөөрөө

冬がどれほど暖かくとも、やはり冬は冬である

However mild the winter, it is still winter

өглөгч хүн, өөртөө хоосон

気前の良い人は自分には何も残らない

A generous person has nothing for himself

Өглөө хазаар орой ташуур

朝は轡（くつわ）、夕は鞭。

A bridle in the morning, a whip in the evening.

өглөөний дулааныг дулаанд бүү бод, өсөхийн жаргалыг жаргалд бүү бод

朝の暖かさを本当の暖かさと思うな、成長期の幸せを本当の幸せと思うな

Do not think morning warmth is real warmth, Do not think childhood happiness is real happiness

өглөөний нарыг нар гэж бүү бод, өсөхийн жаргалыг үүрд гэж бүү бод

朝の日を日と思うな、育ちゆく日の幸せを永遠と思うな

Do not think the morning sun is the sun; do not think the joy of youth lasts forever

өглөөний хоолыг өөртөө, өдрийн хоолыг нөхөртөө, оройн хоолыг дайсандаа

朝食は自分のために、昼食は友のために、夕食は敵のために

Prepare breakfast for yourself, Prepare lunch for your friend, Prepare dinner for your enemy

өгье гэвэл ганцаасаа, уйлъя гэвэл сохроосоо

一つしかなくても与えられ、盲目でも泣ける

Can give even if only one, Can cry even if blind

өгөрсөн мод үндэс нь ялзарвал унах, тастаж авсан өвс үндэслэж ургах

枯れ木は根が腐れば倒れ、引きちぎった草は根を下ろして育つ

The withered tree falls when its root rots, the torn grass roots again and grows

өдрийг алдаж шөнө, өглөөг алдаж орой

昼を逃して夜に、朝を逃して夕方に

Passes the day but works at night, Loses the morning but tries in the evening

өдрийн зоогонд зочин олон, өнчин хүнд ноён олон

昼食には客が多く、孤児には主人が多い

At lunch many visit, For the orphan many masters

өдөр алдаад, шөнө тэмтрэх

昼を無駄にし、夜に手探りする

Passes the day, Fumbles at night

өдөр унасан, махыг авдаггүй

昼に落ちた肉は拾わない

Do not pick up meat that fell on the ground during the day

өдөр явсан явдлаа шөнө цэнэ, өглөө хийсэн ажлаа орой хяна

昼にした事を夜に省み、朝にした事を夕に検討せよ
